Meet ramona Jean Martinez.
Ramona Jean Martinez was raised on a ranch in Tierra Amarilla, the daughter of a teacher and a union ironworker. She learned early what it means to work hard, to show up for your community, and to never quit when things get tough.
That work ethic carried her through college and law school as a single mother. She earned a scholarship to the University of New Mexico, then her law degree from the UNM School of Law. She later moved to Las Cruces to build a life, start a small business, and put down roots in the community she now calls home.
For more than twenty years, Ramona has practiced law on behalf of New Mexico families. Her career has spanned the courtroom and state government, with roles in the Office of Governor Bill Richardson, the Children, Youth and Families Department, and the New Mexico Retiree Health Care Authority. She has served on the New Mexico Border Authority, the New Mexico Sentencing Commission, and the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association.
She is running for the New Mexico House because Las Cruces deserves a representative who has lived the reality working families are facing, and who will fight for them without the political games.
